The Basics Of Writing The Perfect Wedding Invitation

Writing your wedding invitation is not as easy as it looks like. In fact, making the invitation itself can be as time consuming as planning the rest of the wedding. The reason is that wedding invitations help set the mood for the big day itself. People can immediately tell what kind of wedding they are going to expect just by looking at them. That is also the reason why you should be extra careful on how you write the contents of your wedding invitation.

Typically, a wedding invitation begins with the request line of the parents of both parties. While modern day couples usually leave this one out especially if the parents are not going to be present on the wedding day, it is still advisable to include this very important line in your invitation. The reason is simple - to give the parents the honor due to them.

The wordings on your invitation should be written in such a way that readers will also feel how excited you are for the big day. After all, it's a wedding and everybody should be excited! Therefore, write your request line something like this: "Come and join us as we celebrate the beginning of our forever!" Aside from being unique, a line like this can also capture the attention of the reader and get him excited in an instant.

Moreover, you can also use words that are descriptive and expressive to go with your wedding theme. You can even write your lines in a form of a story to make it more interesting. If you're having a beach wedding for example, you can begin with, "Let us get carried away in the waves of April and Eric's love for each other." No matter what the theme is, your creativity on writing lines like this one will surely pay off.

In case your wedding date falls on a holiday, it would be best to send the invitations two months before the exact day of the event. In your invitation, add a few words of advice that would inform your guest to do their bookings in advance especially if you are having a destination wedding. A simple line like this would be enough: "…we suggest that booking be made in advance."

Finally, check your final draft and make sure all the crucial details are not left out. Check whether or not you have included the name of the church, the parents, the bridal entourage, and the couple. Doing this will help you and your invitation supplier avoid any kind of confusion and miscommunication.
